Music Area

The music salon is on the second floor overlooking the solarium. A small musical group might easily enjoy gathering to put together their favorite scores. A Kohler & Campbell piano awaits your talents in an inspiring setting that holds stunning views, as well as a ¾ standing bass that would challenge your brain because it is strung in reverse. Both instruments may be used at our guest’s discretion. In that the nearest neighbor is around a mile away, there is no real sound restriction. The space could comfortably accommodate 4 to 5 musicians and is surrounded as well by the owner’s library.

They even offer gourmet quality food served in a delightful greenhouse setting replete with large tropical foliage. The retreat house also features a saltwater spa.

Wildlife Watching

Because of the relatively few people living here, nature here has been protected from the ever-expanding civilization that has plagued much of the Rocky Mountain West. The area abounds with wildlife. We have deer, elk, antelope, bighorn sheep, coyotes, bobcats, black bears, golden and bald eagles, hawks, and large owls. And if you are very lucky, you may catch a glimpse of a mountain lion. We have those too.Because of the relatively few people living here, nature here has been protected from the ever-expanding civilization that has plagued much of the Rocky Mountain West. Horseback Riding, Fishing, Skiing and Hiking

If you enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, you'll love it here. Our trails along mountain creeks are open to all three activities, with a stable offering guided tours and horses for rent. These creeks, surrounded by aspen, Ponderosa pine, and Douglas fir, contrast beautifully with the nearby piñon and juniper forests. Monarch Ski Area, an hour and a half away, offers great snow and short lift lines, while world-class fly fishing and popular river surfing on the Arkansas River are less than 90 minutes away in Salida.
